Just keep looking at coins that’s the key. But look at each coin at least 3 to 5 separate times. Thats how I do it any ways it’s just habit. Keep it up dude.

  3. Thanks man. I definitely will do that. I'm to add/adhd to see everything on the first glance. Like I said, I don't spend pennies so looking at them again will be like reading a favorite book again and find little new things that I didn't see before.

  4. I'm telling y'all I keep looking at it and it just doesn't look like a ding. I'm not saying it's a stamp over and I'm not by anymeans telling you guys that your wrong. Please explain how this is a ding to a Greenhorn please. Blown up pic provided. Thank you. Not trying to beat a dead horse but.... Screenshot_20171202-032857.png

There is no plating on this year of cent. The coin took a hit from something, another coin, a drone, who knows. The mint mark is smashed.

  7. It looks weird. Is it a D? I think my mind is playing tricks on me cause it's looking like a P now. Thank you. I know I know. It just looks weird to me. I've never seen something like that with no other signs of damage surrounding the MM. Just curious for knowledge. By no means am I trying to second guess any one of you that's been helping me. You all have knowledge that well surpasses mine and believe me I respect that and thank you all for sharing and helping a true rookie/novice along.

If it's fun, go for it. That's why most of us are here. You may never know what caused some things but it's fun to guess.

This might be more helpful than a short answer for you.
Imagine Mr. Lincoln here sitting in a canvass bag with 49,999 of his buddies. He made it through the mint with just a couple of slide marks and a small nick on His lapel. He was one of the lucky ones. Then the ride to the Federal Reserve to wait for an order. Ring ring I’d like ten boxes of cents, five boxes... an order. Boom the bag was already slated to be rolled and boxed that day. So Jim (fictional name) wheels his cart of cent bags to the counter/roller your cents bag is first to be dumped in the hopper. Guess what your cent was on the very top of the contents of the bag so first out. Now THOUSANDS of coins came cascading down on top of him. One hit just right I would imagine. Bingo the birth of your coin. Hope that helps. This is JUST a story and not based on any facts or know situations. I don’t know the Feds procedures so it’s a guess. Again just a theory.

You forgot the part where the guard dropped the bag on his foot and kicked it while saying nasty words. :D

I think that’s all part of the Feds minting process isn’t it
