I like your way of thinking @Theodosius. Bacon! But, of course! Also, I was thinking it might be HB_Modern because isn't he a man of very few words? And the blurb was so short we hardly got any 'flavor' of the personality in it. We can only go on the coin which, as others have said above, might easily and intentionally mislead. Hmmmm. What is the rush? There are still almost three full days before we must continue on to the third challenge. I'm going to sleep on it a night or two.

That is right, Cointessa, the hard part of this contest is judging the degree of deliberate misdirection that was used. Is it straightforward, or very tricky?

The "Z" answer is so obvious that it must be a trap (or we would have to vote "Z" at every round of the contest which isn't possible I guess.
So I have to go with @FitzNigel, first because someone collecting medieval can't be a bad guy, second because someone collecting medieval is weird enough to be able to collecting those.

Now, I have to show a medieval to stay on the line

I like Q's choice and I first was going to go with FitzNigel because as far as I could tell the short and direct I led sentences in the description were his style. But I waited to see who the more experienced ancient guys and gals here would go with, and it seems to be heavily favoring Zumbly, and that makes me happy because...

If it is Zumbly's coin, that makes my choice on the previous coin owner much more viable. And I like winning, so that is why I pick Zumbly.

Of course, if this doesn't end well for me, I will have helped expose Curtisimo's devious streak.... bwahaha

Here's my coin, which I am waiting to arrive. Hoping to get to a show soon and pick out an ancient for me. Until then, I present the most ancient Jeffie:

I'll go with Zumbly too....simply because my cat previously chose
H8_Modern and this seems to be a Greek coin 'Z' would have in his collection.

My first thought was @Alegandron because this is his style of coin, but simple logic told me that it was not him. My next choice was @H8_modern because it was not a medieval and not super high grade.

    My first Greek coin. :)

I woke up today with this unnerving thought:

What if the answer to all five parts (or even more than one part) of this contest were the same collector??!?

I went to read the rules again. There is nothing that indicates that such a result could not happen!!

Could it possibly be C the G again?!? Egads!!

Guess the same collector for all five and you should get one right.

LOL Yeah, @Theodosius! The idea is that we are to have fun and not feel suckered, so I am veering away from my idea a collector will be the owner of a contest coin more than once. But it had to be considered.;)

I can confirm that all 5 volunteers have 1 coin only in the game. Though having seen them all I WISH they were all mine :)

And to answer a question that has been asked you are more than welcome to change your mind from previous rounds as the game goes on and choose the same collector more than once. Might be interesting to know what caused you to change your mind in your reasoning too :)

I am going to say zumbly because his name is fun to say. Just picture me doing this over and over with his name.

Although @Curtisimo your name would probably have worked better with that specific gif

@zumbly seems to be the consensus, so I'll vote for him yet again. Here's an Arcadius AE4 from Antioch:

I think zumbly is the owner of this coin, he has an eye for good quality in this region of the ancient world. 20161209_154923.jpg 20161209_154617.jpg TITUS. 79AD. Rome mint, radiate figure on rostral column, 3.41gm, RIC 10.

I predict that guessing the same person for each coin and getting one right would not place you at the bottom of the group. I'll also guess that getting three right will be considered outstanding performance. So far zumbly has been selected as owner of each of the two coins shown. Will we continue to attribute the other three to him also? Perhaps we should have been shown all five coins first and been able to use process of elimination when making our guesses. Of course not all of the volunteers are equally well known to many of us and I, at least, have very little idea what some of the five collect. When the call for volunteers went out, I could not say with certainty which of my coins I have shown online and which I have not. If I were to select a coin that I really doubt I have shown, I suspect it would have to be one I do not consider one of my more interesting ones or something that would shout out who owned it making the game pointless. I do wonder just how many different coins I have posted but have no way of knowing. Memory is not what it once was.
