    Team,

Here is an 1876-CC Quarter Dollar. I was looking for some grade opinions using whatever grading standard you feel comfortable with and care to use. I'm aware it's been cleaned at some point, but bon't hold back on your thoughts or input. :)

    Bone,

Based on the Obverse details, I would normally grade it a decent F-12! However, due to the nicer details on the Reverse, I think it might go F-15! I did not subtract any from the grading for the old cleaning.

    hamman88 Spare some change, sir?

Do those C's seem far apart?

I think it could go as a Fine.

i was thinking the same thing on the mint mark.

    i would go with F-12.

They are indeed far apart, but there are authenticated examples just like it.

I agree that the coin has a nicer reverse, but coins are graded by the worst side, not the best. Given that and based on ANA standards the coin would be VG8.

Not only are the 2 C's far apart, but, at the least, the left is very unusually placed. Every one I can find have both C's between the crossed arrows.

I would say F-12. The 1876 CC quarter has 2 types of mint marks, the large CC & the small CC. Also the 1876 CC quarter has 2 types of reeding the fine reeding (153 reeds) and the usual reeding (119 reeds). The 153 fine reading is dozens of times rarer. That's a very nice coin!

Looks Fine to me, and farily nice. I'd be worried about an old cleaning not visible from the photos...Mike

F-12, but a little shaky. The word LIBERTY barely makes it. Cleaned.

I think I see enough details to say F15, and with the coin inhand probably a VF20. Nice coin!

I would say F12 obverse and VF20 reverse. It's a nice coin. The CC is very unusual.

My opinion is F-15. I think it doesn't have the obverse detail to be VF. I also believe that i see a full Liberty, but not sharp. If Liberty is missing in any part, my grade would drop to VG-10 as that is the criterion for a Fine.

    ANA F12 - obverse
Some details show in hair and cap, and at the shoulder and breast. All shield lines and letters in LIBERTY are weak but visible. Foot and sandle are separated.

There is no detail remaining in the hair and cap - both are flat. The shield lines are not all visible, but LIBERTY does appear to be there. Not only are the foot and sandle not separated - you can't even tell there is a sandle.

    I'll stick with VG8.

GDJMSP you can honestly tell how much detail is left in the hair, cap, and feet in those photographs? If so, can I borrow your eyes? ;)

Mike I look at this way - those pics are about 300% - 350% actual size. And if you can't see any detail at that magnification - then it likely aint there pal.
