Yeah...glad someone is doing well. Awesome score with the Mercs!!!!! 1 box of halves and 5 boxes of dimes yielded a grand total of 1 1954d Roosevelt....what a day...a bit discouraged.

I didn't find a roll of mercs. Instead, I just finished my worst box of cents yet. Only 3 keepers: 1945, 50d, and 57d. This drops my keeper rate for cents down to 0.35% and overall (cents, nickels, and halves) down to 1.21%. On to the next box of cents!......

Alright guys we can't give up just because of some junk luck. I've been having some better than average luck lately though.

Last week the person in charge of the cash at the library said she had 2 halves and 3 dollar coins for me. One of the halves was a 40% 1967!

Then another coworker came to me with a bag of coins because she knows i collect. I search it and give it back to her. I didn't search it yet however i did a little "shake and look" and there was a 1943 D war nickel!

Then today i went to a lot of banks and came out with 3 2017, 2 2016 and 1 1968 halves! I also got 6 BU ikes.

Then I went to my favorite bank to place and order for 600 2 dollar bills which they told me i had to come in to order, only to find out they had already placed my order and it was there for pick up!

It's almost holiday time so hopefully there is some more luck coming for all of us!

Just finished my official first four boxes for this week 3 skunks I did pull 1-64, 1-66, 1-67, I also pulled 1-68 from $250 of MWR from a satellite bank of the bank I picked up from today. I also pulled a GEM 1974D DDO. Which I found by just edge checking the coins. Wishing you all find that Huge Christmas Silver Score.

Stopped at 2 banks tonight. At the first I dumped my halves and asked for large dollars. They had $280 in large dollars, so of course I bought them all. I’ve not had time to look through them.

2nd bank has a really nice, cute teller. She saw me come into the bank and, despite the fact she was with a customer and there was a long line, she quietly asked if I was there for “silver dollars and half dollars”. I said yes. She whispered she had 3 dollars. I patiently waited in line for 15 minutes, which was no problem because an accident had closed the road where I was headed. My turn finally came, and she said the coins were in the drive through, so she went to get them. Took another 5 minutes. She returned to the teller window and handed me 3 small dollar coins, ugh! I handed her 3 bucks, heartily and genuinely thanked her, we smiled at each other, and I left.
LESSON: ALWAYS BE POLITE BECAUSE SOMEDAY IT WILL PAY!

I’ll report here if I find any keepers in the 280 large dollars :)

    HH everyone!

Edit: other than 16 BU common Ikes there was nothing of note in the 280.

So I just finished up 6 boxes of halves today with 4 of them skunks, found 3 pieces of silver, 1-64, 1-68, 1-69. Only need three more to reach my weekly goal of 10 pieces. Well, we will see what happens Tomorrow.

Several banks had about $10 in loose halves - nothing

One bank had $220 worth, so I took $60 worth (about what I had in my pocket). The teller said one customer had brought them all in (meh), but that it was a contractor who said a client paid for a job with them (hey!). Once they brought they rolls out I knew it was a bust - all re-sealed Brinks machine rolls. Went through them in case something was missed, maybe a proof, NIFC, or a BU common date coin... nothing good.

One bank had 10 Ikes, including 3 gold plated coins.

    @Arby

    Congrats!

I'm in a slump. 3 skunks in a row and not much at all the last month. Hopefully I can pull out of the tail spin. Will do two boxes of halves on Saturday.

My last $1500 in MWR halves yielded nothing.

Today 5 banks had $23 in loose halves, which yielded 1, 40%.

    I’ll take it!

94 Ikes saved for me by a teller at my new bank. Said a lady dropped them off. Picked them up today and no silver, but a quick glance showed some AU coins. Will upgrade my album where I can, keep a few nice dupes, give nice ones leftover as gifts in plastic cases to tellers. When I picked them up, gave her and the head teller each an AU Kennedy Bicentennial. They were jazzed! Hope they call me with more incoming coins!!!!

I snagged 305 Ikes from a teller a couple of weeks ago. No silver but I got some AU and even low MS ones. Watch for Varieties especially the 1972 Type II. In AU its about $150.

Cool! That 1972 Type II is a tough one, but I did find a worn 1971-D Friendly Eagle Variety awhile back......
