I Watched Coin Vault For The First Time - OMG!

I’ve read a lot of the stories about how bad Coin Vault is so when I was flipping through channels the other day I saw it listed so I had to take a look.

OMG – It’s worst that I had read about.

I watched the tail end of one offering, an NGC slabbed coin. Can’t remember which one but I looked it up on ebay real quit and saw that there were several being offered going for from $50 to $70. Coin Valut’s price – two easy payments of $89!

But the next one was a real doozy. A hobo nickel, an 2017 slabbed NCG penny, 16 1oz copper rounds, five current date uncirculated rolls, plus a bag of wheat back pennies (435 pennies in the bag), a value of over $500 for only two payments of $99. But wait, they exchanged one uncir roll for a bag of Wheaties, then another and another and another, each time upping the value of the package.

By the time they got done switching things around the final count was a modern Hobo nickel, 2017 NCG penny, 16 copper rounds, 4 bags of Wheaties, 3 uncir 2017 rolls. They were telling people this was a value of over $1,500. For only those two payments $99.

Well I’m sure some poor suckers couldn’t get their credit cards out and on the phone fast enough to get in on this great deal.

I did some quick calculations and figured that on a good day what they were offering might be worth $100 retail, so I’m sure they paid much less.

It’s one thing to sell this stuff, but telling people that what is worth perhaps $100 is worth over 15 times that much is such a misrepresentation of a product that it should be against the law. Just incredible!!

No tv? How do you watch the old James Bond movies, featuring your avatar as the brilliant weapon of choice by a very scary bad guy. Odd Job isn't it??? :vomit:

Is it even good entertainment? Is there any good information to get from that show or is everything pretty much inflated?

Do yourself a favor and don't ever watch it. Watching a small piece of gravel on the side of a roadway is more fun.

Not untypical for these TV coin types. When it comes to buying from them, just say no.

They do show many different coins, both new, and old. Just use the tv coin shows price rule of thumb... you can find what they offer for around half of their price. Although there are a few exceptions, this formula is relatively accurate.
I think they can be interesting to watch sometimes, but are not to buy from.

A friend gave me a bin of her sister’s valuable coins to go through. I knew it wasn’t going to be good when the first box had four modern gold plated St Gaudins knock offs. It got a little better from there.

She did have coins with collector value, but the company shipped them in cellophane packets that are surely leaving hairlines all over.

Oh and I almost forgot about the gold plated mint sets with certificates of authenticity swearing that they are one of only 500 sets.

Gonna suck when I have to tell her.

So, are you guys in prison, or what?

Well, I've never been inside a prison, but from what I have heard there are more luxuries in there than many other people can afford. Well, not without going into huge debt anyway. So I guess that means the answer to your question must be "what".
