    The coins are all resting atop a rock... is that what you are seeing as an irregular flan?

    I sincerely hope that I was in no way responsible for this by suggesting that coins be photographed raised from the background on some support without specifying that the support needs to be smaller than the coin. I currently use empty tubes from ball point pens but previously recommended dowels. While I have tried many supports (see below), I never thought of using a rock.:)

    I think we are confused about the point you are making with this thread...

    I am in favor of the snake support, it must be fairly adjustable for height.

    That was what I was seeing. Sorry for the pointless thread but what a weird way to display a coin. Very odd perspective.
