Andres2's coin reminds us that sigloi offer a great opportunity to collect countermarks. My favorite one is the owl (obverse left edge) accompanied by several lesser marks on this siglos. It was struck the wrong way on the oval flan which I believe made it questioned by more merchants resulting in more marks.
There are plenty of interesting counter marks in this post. I did not notice the counter mark on mine until I read comments from others. Mine is rotated like Doug's, but has only one mark. It looks like a sniper shop on the running king! I have these coins in the same storage spot, so the pics are together: Lydian half stater, Kroisos 561 - 546 BC, 5.26 grams Persian siglos, 450 - 330 BC, 5.31 grams
Some come in gold, but not all. I know the Type I does not come in gold. Last I saw, Bill Daehn has documented 47 had ever been sold at auction of the Type I's. Mine he has listed as number 43. The one you linked is the finest I have ever seen.
