Images aren't great and I wouldn't normally guess PL but I know you like PL coins and this date is common for PL coins (just sent a 65PL to GC to sell as it turns out) so I'll guess 64PL.
Just trying to get a raised brow! Okay real guess MS 64. It looks like it still has good detail on the raised areas but the pictures show contact marks that IMO would lower the grade.
I will give a bigger hint, and say that they aren’t contact marks on the Obverse, left hand side in the fields. They are die polish striations, that did not photograph well.
Based on the photos...I'm going to say straight graded MS64...no PL. Although the surfaces look absolutely stunning and it has booming luster, it doesn't appear to have the cameo affect that usually comes with a PL graded Morgan. Of course, that could also be the photo. I think the minor marks in the field hold it back from going any higher but it might have been given a bump to MS65 due to the eye appeal. Also, this looks to be a wonderful strike for a 1904-O. 1904-O Morgan's are known for a wide range of strike quality from fully struck to poorly struck and this is clearly a very nicely struck example.
I'm with you as far as getting a PL on this coin. But it is deceiving with those photos at this angle. IMO
Here is the coin. It is very close to PL. I think the obverse is PL, and the reverse is close to it. The pictures are bad, due to an overcast day, and I think the coin looks better in hand:
I didn't even think NGC star. Had I thought it through and realized it was NGC prongs in the photo I would have said star for sure. Beautiful coin.
