I'm not familiar with the series. Is it common for the initials to be polished away this much? The disappear completely at some angles, and there's only a ghost image at others.
Can you post a full photo of the obverse, and reverse, of the coin? ......something is 'off' about it.
Thanks for the additional photos. I can see, although weakly, the designers' initials in the photos, especially the last one above. I don't think this would be a new 'missing' initials variety.
Thank you for taking a look. It's from a small collection I bought yesterday. When you mentioned something looked "off" I started wondering what I might have missed. I was about to start weighing silver eagles and testing proof sets for magnetism.
