    Purchased in 1988 as EF40.

(much luster and steel/blue toning - picture is lousy).

I think that a fair number. They're known to sometimes strike up weakly around the shield, and the talons are still mostly-developed. The surfaces are of excellent quality for the grade, and if it were offered 45 by someone who gives eye appeal greater weight in grading than I do, it would be acceptable. A well-bought coin. :)

Thanks guys - that is what I thought too.

It has beautiful luster and tone, but I guess at the end of the day its a 45 and no higher.

btw, this is a Norweb coin - is this provenance worth a premium?

This to my liking would be the grade as well color of a specimen as such. I have a few bust quarters that range right around yours. I find the bluish, grey tone very eye appealing, as a bust half dime collector coins that fall in this range and color are very welcome specimens to the hoard. Nice coin agreed xf 45

Quite possibly for folks who enjoy collecting such provenance. So good to see you Eduard........:)

Probably more liquid than a premium if it can be proven. Most would want to see it on a slab or a very detailed documented history before putting any weight into that

I think XF neighborhood is good. That’s a very nice quarter (especially so with the neat pedigree).

I think the grade is correct. Optimistically, 45 is the highest it can go.
But I think 40 is right on.
