I think that a fair number. They're known to sometimes strike up weakly around the shield, and the talons are still mostly-developed. The surfaces are of excellent quality for the grade, and if it were offered 45 by someone who gives eye appeal greater weight in grading than I do, it would be acceptable. A well-bought coin.
Thanks guys - that is what I thought too. It has beautiful luster and tone, but I guess at the end of the day its a 45 and no higher. btw, this is a Norweb coin - is this provenance worth a premium?
Eduard This to my liking would be the grade as well color of a specimen as such. I have a few bust quarters that range right around yours. I find the bluish, grey tone very eye appealing, as a bust half dime collector coins that fall in this range and color are very welcome specimens to the hoard. Nice coin agreed xf 45
Probably more liquid than a premium if it can be proven. Most would want to see it on a slab or a very detailed documented history before putting any weight into that
I think the grade is correct. Optimistically, 45 is the highest it can go. But I think 40 is right on.
