1971 quarter p over D mint mark

    I am no expert but i believe i found a rare 1971 quarter p over D mint mark error. I leave it up to the experts. You guys and you know who you guys are.

    @Mike59silva for further reference it helps if you rotate the coin so that others dont have to correct for you or bend their necks to look. Your coin appears to have a filled mint mark which is common. I rotated the coin for you. 197122.jpg

    I checked the reverse and spotted the ddr 801. The spot under the beak of the eagle is identical as well as on the wings.

    Not a P over D.. It looks like it does because of 46 years of circulation wear or it could of been a small Die Chip

    With the exception of the Large P used on 1942-1945 war nickels, there were no P mintmarks used until the SBA dollar in 1979, 7 years after your coin was minted. Quarters first started using the P mm in 1980
