Misspelling

I have a 1953 wheat penny and on the back where it says United States of America it says tates instead of states. So I’m just wondering how much this penny would cost.

It's a struck through grease. Nothing exciting or valuable, but they're always interesting.

 

You can faintly see the S, so it is a "struck through" error. Fun but not valuable.

If it's missing the S in STATES then its worth less than 1 Cent. Because the US mint shortchanged you.
