Most of you know that our friend stevex6 is in the process of selling off his collection, and as I mentioned in another thread, I just purchased 8 coins from him.

One the highlights of my coin-week here on CT was always 'CNG Wednesday', when Steve would share his latest acquisitions freshly won from his favorite auction hunting ground. Today isn't 'CNG Wednesday', but it is Wednesday, and I thought I'd post another coin from the group I just acquired from Steve. Appropriately, it was one of his 'CNG Wednesday' wins back in June 2015.

One of the nicest detailed galley's I have seen good pick up zumbly, as it turns out I just bought a very cheap galley coin, Postumus, Romano-Gallic Emperor, 260-269 AD, AR Antoninianus, Trier, 1st emission, 3rd phase, 261 AD, 21mm, 3.85 gm, RIC 73. ex GB Collection. cRy82mWxC5Ra7k7TB3boWz6E4ZAjLn.jpg

Lovely Postumus galley! I really like the portrait on that one, too. I believe I have a few "ex GB Collection" coins but am away from my catalog right now and can't check and in any case have no idea whom GB is.

I felt I should have an x6 animal coin:
s-l1600.jpg Indo-Scythian AE unit, Azes II, humped bull standing right, monogram above, Greek legend around, rev. maneless lion right, monogram above, Kharosthi legend around. 27mm, 13.42 g.

But the one I really wanted was Zombie Jesus!

Zombie Jesus is quite the score! The Indo-Skythian is great too. Of my other six, five are animal coins and the last is a weapon one. I'll pace myself with showing them :D.

My galley came from a show earlier this year and is not as nice as the X6 example.

My X6 coin is smaller than your X6 coin.

I have one at least as small to show later :).

When I first saw his Caracalla galley, I immediately put the type on my want list and started the hunt for a suitable one. There were many in equal or better grade, but I came up empty trying to find one with a jauntier galley. Steve sure knows how to pick 'em!
