But you don't say where geographically. I'm curious which country or region as I'm suppose to go to Croatia this year to metal detect with a friend who lives there.

I've worked in Croatia off and on over the past 15 years. I've even bought some coins there. My colleague in Croatia is a senior officer in the Croatian military, so he should be knowledgeable of where we can hunt and what laws are applicable. I was hoping to go this Spring, but now it looks more likely this Fall.
thats good news..november, december, january, for me, are best time to detect in this part of europe..deep plowing soil is just perfect..sestertius, as, dupondius..they all come up in this time of the year...in my experience..
