Well it's time to start speculating on the next spouse coin coming up for sale on Nov. 15th.

After such a dismal outcome of the first three (grey sheet now shows them as being worth the same or less than original selling price), I wonder if the Dolly Madison will sell out in two hours! I purchased all of the first three thinking they were going to be in big demand since they sold out so fast. Now they seem to be going for spot. You would think they would have some collectors appeal for the proof. Also you really can't buy bullion coins for spot from dealers they want about 5% to 6% over spot, so why aren't they bringing at least that?

Here's my question, How many of you who bought one or all of the first three will buy this one coming up on November 15th?

Do you think this one will sell out in two hours?

I purchased the Jefferson and once the credit card statement came sold it on ebay for about $200 over the cost. It was short, sweet and not to be repeated.

IMO over time the Washington, Jefferson, Madison and Jackson will do quite well. As for the others don't expect much over bullion. My reasoning for the Washington and Madison is the popularity of the First Ladies in their own right, even after a couple hundred plus years. The Jefferson and Jackson will appreciate due to collector interest in the Liberty designs from coins of the age. We'll see.

With the price of gold rising, even spot is approaching the original price of the coins. I plan to buy the Madison coin because I want to collect the series. Personally, I'd be happy if the frenzy dies down.

Indeed. Not having to spend an hour (or more...) trying to order the dang coins? That'd be nice...

I agree with you 100% Dolley Madison is the most famous of the girls. During the administration of Jefferson fulfilling the ceremonial functions more usually associated with the President's wife, since Jefferson was a widower. At her death in 1849, President Zachary Taylor is said to have eulogized her as "the First Lady of the land" -- the first use of the term "First Lady" to describe a head of state's spouse.
As to Jackson, Martin Van Buren, and James Buchanan I will buy one of there Liberty coins
Last President Arthur’s coin will be that of Alice Paul was born into a Quaker family at Paulsdale, her family farm in Mount Laurel, New Jersey

This Farm is in the next town from me only about 3 miles away so I'm sure it will be popular in the area

I bought the Jefferson Proof and UNC. Bought because I liked the classic design. Don't plan on buying any more first spouse coins.

I'm from New Jersey, too, but in the northern part, near Morristown. Nobody famous related to coinage ever lived around here except some guy named George Washington.
