Came across this in really good condition, and curious if it's just offset enough, has more space on the top then the bottom, and if that would be an error. Thank you. Sorry that the camera did it upside down
Well its a 1963! A definite keeper already I don't know enough about paper to tell you about the edges though. Thanks, Jacob
Nice find. The slight offset cutting is not considered an error and, if anything, actually reduces the value a little (assuming it's a crisp Unc) since it's not considered "well centered"
The stories I've heard always referred to Grant as a heavy drinker, but this is the first time I've seen a photo of him standing on his head. Chris
Hilarious! Thank you everyone for the great info. It's in pristine shape so may keep it. Didn't know that the offset cutting would actually take away from value, so thanks for the info!
Margins can affect value but generally not by a lot. Personally, I would prefer a note with poorer margins in nicer condition than one in poorer condition with better margins. I recently found a 1981A $50 note at a bank that is in nicer condition than the example I already had. The only thing was the reverse margin isn't as good but I still saved this one and ended up exchanging the one with better margins in poorer condition at a casino.
