    If you look closely you can see IN GOD backwards on the rim edge of this 1972 Lincoln penny. Thought maybe it could be a die clash?

    With clashed dies, the image from the other side is usually only in the fields. The die travel on the mechanical presses isn't enough for the image to receive damage
    Look at Morgan dollars and 3 cent nickels to see what I mean.
