Hi- I was on the star note lookup page (great reference!) and I have a couple of notes that are in the colored blocks, one in a 320,000 run block. The advice I read in the forum was to put these aside, but is there a way to value them? For me, the sport is in the find, not the collection, so I would like to trade them for coins but I am not sure how to ask for a fair trade. If they have no real extra market value, how would I go about getting them into the hands of people who would appreciate them? Any advice is appreciated on how to be honest about condition as well. I run 3 retail stores and find lots of star notes, but most are common so they get spent. Almost all are circulated unless they come from a fresh pack. Thanks- Mike
I will put them on the open section for trade. My wife dropped our camera so I won't have pics, but I'll describe them in detail. I guess I will do the "best offer" type of thing. That was good advice! Thanks- Mike
Could you provide serial numbers and series on those? Along with relative condition I might be able to help assign a value. It may also help if you stated what kind of coins you're interested in. Makes trading a lot easier.
Thanks, Clembo! I listed them in the Open section with a description of grade. I am not too concerned with what kind of coins get traded as long as it isn't common wheat cents (I have thousands). I am not looking to profiteer either, just a trade that everyone is comfortable with. Maybe silver Roosies or something else that may be just sitting around. Since I am not a currency collector, I did not attempt an accurate grade but instead gave a description. Thanks again- Mike
