I am a member of the ANS and today they sent me an e-mail advertising a publication that will be out in a month (that usually means two months): It says "The Later Republican Cistophori treats the cistophoric coinage bearing the names of Roman magistrates, most commonly proconsuls, struck in 58–48 BC, as well as other issues which depart from the traditional paradigm." I love ancient-coin books, almost as much as the coins themselves, so I pre-ordered it. By the way, if you are serious about ancient coins and ancient-coin scholarship, you might consider joining the ANS to support their good work. http://numismatics.org/ In 2014 they sent me a "30 Year Member" certificate which I have proudly framed and put on my wall, visible from where I am typing now.

I'm looking forward to seeing your review. I have a feeling I'll be picking this up next year as this is definitely an area of coinage I'm interested in but don't yet know enough about to actually feel comfortable purchasing any coins of.
@red_spork , you may not see my review for some time. First, the book is not out yet. Second, after I mentioned to my wife that I had ordered it, she requisitioned it as a Christmas gift (I'm hard to buy for.) I won't be reading it soon.
