To me, the printed material behind your coin looks out of focus.
So I want to ask you..forget the coin for a moment. About your vision (which is more important, no?) on your last post, top photograph, the one of the reverse of your cent, does the printed material appear clearly focused to you?
    Sincerely,

LOLll.. I'm asking @Cecelia Valverde, because if that is not out of focus for you, then I should RUN and not walk to my nearest ophthalmologist!!

Many 'point and shoot' cameras posses 'macro' capability and are economical (under 100 bucks) to own.......

  6. Actually the 696124 looks pretty good to me ,I can see the detail on the coin and the writing on the paper.Maybe someone else sees it differently.

Seeing something and having it REALLY sharp can be the difference between $0.01 and $10.00

Neither one is worth getting graded. Neither one is a 1962.
    Keepers but not worth much.

Save the many dollars slabbing would cost for two coins that combined retail for $.25. That is 25 cents, not $25.00.

  12. What is special about a 1962 penny?

Nothing - these are all common Lincoln Memorial cents - but the coin you found, despite not being worth very much (not to mention challenging to photograph) is indeed a beauty for a coin more than 50 years old that was found in circulation.

@Kentucky- I'll remember the "Text Trick" next time I'm shooting cellphone pix. Thanks.

@LaCointessa- I'm happy to see your "classic" avatar back. I liked the alternate one fine, but I had come to identify you with the classic one. By all means, switch 'em around as you feel like, but keep this one as your "default". I do this, with the "Holey Hat Icon" being my default, but I like to change things up now and again. @Deacon Ray likes to do this too.

(We now return to our original topic, with apologies to @Cecelia Valverde for the digression.)

Poor Cecelia and her thread. Yes, I love your stick figure @lordmarcovan avatar and every time I see the smiling very boyish @Deacon Ray in suspenders avatar I end up smiling. You must have missed the cyclops space monster avatar I brought out just for Halloween purposes yesterday. You'll have to wait until next year but no telling which other monster I may roll out by then (as I have a few to choose from).

A continuing proposition for a lot of us. There are some incredible coin photographers on here, but most of us just want to take a picture that shows the coin honestly. Grading is another proposition.

I like your avatar, @LaCointessa ! It's expressionistic! It sort of reminds me of the paintings of Russian expressionist painter Alexei Jawlensky. Sort of

Jawlensky was my hero when I was in art school!

Yes...well, sort of! LoL! You are kind. It's the eyes, i suppose. Jawlensky's art is way sophisticated. I enjoy his use of color and relaxed hand. I think I will go spend some time with his art now that I have finished with the grunt work part of my day.
    Thank you, Deacon Ray.
