THAT was a circulation find? Amazing. You see what that pup is worth spotless, right? I wonder what it falls to in this condition.
I have to finish checking for doubled dies and varieties. When I am I will post results and you will not believe the variety of stuff I found before this.
I looks like the regular or business strike of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Commemorative Half Dollar. It does not appear to be a proof coin. Did you get it in circulation or purchase it? The real rarity would be to find something like this in circulation.
The regular strike or business strike, like the one you have, is the lower mintage one. It is also one of the lowest mintage (if not the lowest mintage) commemorative half dollars minted since 1982. The fact that it looks beat up a bit reduces value, but still a great find.
