Ebay coin seller whose negatives always get removed?

Has anyone else noticed mikesmoneymarket's negatives are gone virtually instantly on ebay? It seems they get about five neutrals and negatives daily and they are gone almost immediately but the revised feedback count never changes? Has anyone else bought from them? I took a screenshot the other day to compare to what it is now.

Not the only seller I've seen this occur with unfortunately. I've even had one of the very few negative feedbacks I've left on Ebay in 13 years of using it removed when it was entirely justified without any reason.

 

I believe that eBay removes negatives for anything refunded, as the refund process nullifies the sale, which it does I suppose.

Anyone who falls for the hype in that seller's listing deserves what they get. He has several negatives listed right now.

 

But at this high of a rate? I do understand having the occasional one or two removed here and there, but hes must have had 100 feedbacks removed in the past month. Even his positives are mostly false positives. If his feedback actually stuck I doubt anyone would ever buy from him?

 

I do understand but if you look at the posted picture he has had nine neutrals dropped in a 24 hour period.

You can issue a refund on anything. Buyer does not get to vote. Some unhappy people give neutral ratings because they were taught to not say anything at all if they can't say something good. People who are afraid of anything but positive ratings can combat this by refunding. Check the eBay seller terms. I might be wrong?

Well, this holds true with many eBay sellers, and from the looks of it, this particular schlub is a fine example of it.

 

Is that how it works? If a refund is issued ebay will then treat the transaction like it never happened and will remove the negative? It still is extremely shady, I'm sure this seller has worked refunds into his profit margin. I completely understand if you are dumb enough to fall for his ad you deserve it, but new collectors do not know any better and one experience with him can turn new collectors away from the hobby.

The refund itself does not trigger the removal of feedback. The feedback is removed after the auction is canceled, which the seller can do without buyer's permission once the refund is made.

The best thing for the collector to do is get away and stay away from sellers like this. Don’t waste time worrying about such stuff as how he gets critical remarks removed.

 

The negative feedbacks should be left in place to warn other buyers of the seller's sleazy tactics. I think most of us look at a seller's feedbacks to see if we want to deal with them.

 

This is the second time in two weeks that a brand new member has posted a thread calling out the same seller — one of a jillion sellers on eBay. In my book, this is too coincidental to be coincidental. Not defending questionable sellers, but this site is too often used for agendas.

 

But the hardest thing for uninformed collectors is they do not know to stay away from sellers like this because his feedback is so waterdowned and he dominates silver searches because he gets all of this feedback removed. Sellers like this do a disservice to the entire hobby, be it by profiting off of sham listings or souring new collectors experiences.

 

How can the prospective collector/buyer know if the seller is shady if seller gets his negatives removed ??
