Sweet! That one resembles my (so-far) greatest cherrypick.

In the early 2000s, I bought a 1904 $20 that looked quite similar to that, in an old PCI green label MS62 holder, for 400 bucks, which was melt~ish at the time. A little while later I cracked it out and sent it to PCGS and it came back 64. That two-point upgrade represented about a $1K price jump in value in the priceguides at the time, and as I recall, I got $1,200-ish when I sold it. It was perhaps more of a generic MS64 example and maybe would not have gone 64+ in today's grading, but needless to say, I danced a happy little jig.

Wow, I'm surprised the difference there was in price then from 62 to 64 since this is such a common $20. I only paid $400 more than you sold yours for with spot $900 higher and mine has a +! PCI Green Labels are great, just ask @Paddy54 !

I forget exactly when I sold it. Would've bought it around 2003, as I recall. I definitely sold it before the 2008 recession and subsequent spike in bullion prices. But I think I held it for less than a year.
