What does President Obama have to do with this? To answer NOTHING! Ben Franklin coined the phrase 200 years ago on the use of tobacco. Which I will a test to the quote "quitting smoking is easy to do.....I've done it a 100 times myself!" As I myself can say from personal experience smoking over 40 years and quiting one time for 2 years, and another for 1. And once again since last June..... Addiction is to each their own devil to dance with....
I know it's tough. My mom and dad both quit.. when we buried them. Two packs a day each. One a heart attack and hardening of the arteries, and one cancer that went from the lungs to the bones and brain. My mom could look at me and not know who I was, but every 30 seconds she would bring her fingers to her lips to drag on a cigarette that wasn't there. The Obama thing came up because he said he had quit several times, which made me shake my head. That way he could be a role model to the youth of America.
Oh a role model like just about everyone of the signers of the declaration of independence whom smoked? General Black Jack Pershing who insisted that enlisted men smoke ! And made sure if NOTHING else his solders got cigarettes. How about John Wayne another role model who smoked....and also died of lung cancer. There were a heck of a lot of roles models that influenced the youth of America way before President Obama.
Times have changed. I don't have a problem with smokers, just people who try to pretend they don't and make up excuses and rationalizations. My mom used to shake her fingers at me while holding a lit cigarette telling me to never take up smoking. It may sound hypocritical to some, but that is how powerful that addition is to some. She would have loved to quit, but wanted to do her best to keep her children from being held in the claws of a powerful drug.
Times haven't changed as nicotine is as addicting today as it was 200 years ago. What else hasn't changed is laying blame on others for your own actions. I lay no blame on other's than myself for the choices in life I have made. My apologies for taking this thread off topic.... enough said!
Now that we are back on track with the '38-D issue... I was leaning towards the RPM-006, except I could not make out the marker on the inside of the MM.
I just recently started searching coins I found this one this morning It looks like the AM on America is touching Some "doubling" on 'RICA" & On the date and liberty as well
It's in very good condition Has a reddish tint to it....On both sides MINOR MINOR SCRATCHES Idk what to do now.......
I believe the MM was severely effected between die states, They have a very close position to a late die state OMM_005, accept they are every flat, I think affected by grease? most of the markers will fall in line, just a different die state.
My thoughts are I'm not a quitter! It's a frame of mind! But, if I do it will be for good! Kinda "old school" like that! So, what are the Variety's Proffessor? I got 6 2 7 1 2
The first thing you should do is give your coin its' own thread, rather than dumping it into another person's thread about an entirely different issue. You both deserve better than that.
