1857 Flying Eagle - Grade?

    You vs TPG

    Coin is not flush in the holder, so the obverse looks like there are missing dentils, but they're there, and look good. That's also why it looks like the rim on the reverse is compromised, but again, it's fine.

    Scratches at 1 o'clock are on the slab, not the coin.

    Where are you at with a grade on this?

    AU 55
    ...enough detail to be above XF but too much wear for UNC...so AU

    AU55, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a 53.

    I think a strong AU58. Little wear on high points but no detail lost.

    Hard to say without seeing the actual luster but based off photos I'd say AU50 but could potentially see if going higher if there's enough luster still there.

    AU 55.Don't care for the dark spot. May try acetone.

    AU58. Those don't have to be lustrous. But they'll give it a double-nickel because that's the way they are and there's nothing anybody can do about it.

    EDIT: Nice crack through that ribbon.

    AU55 with a good strike. Not flashy, or anything to write home about, but solid.
