Hi, I'm looking for information regarding the coin in this watch in this eBay auction.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/322842486488?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 I hope it's ok to post this link (since I'm not the seller). Easier to do this than to copaysave/upload images. I've gotten some good info in another forum but still looking for more. Anything appreciated. Thanks!
In a quick search I couldn't find that coin existing at all. Its very likely imo it could have been a one off type thing made specifically for the watch itself and never existed anywhere outside that arrangement. That's just my guess though another member more familiar with world coins may have better info. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?mode=simplifie&p=1&r=country:Somalia 2001&e=&d=&ca=3&no=&i=&v=&m=&a=&t=&dg=&w=&u=&f=&g=&tb=y&tc=y&tn=y&tp=y&tt=y&te=y&cat=y Also it's very easy to link images without copy/saving anything. Just right click the image and copy the image location. Then hit the picture button when making your post (it looks like a mountain with sun in upper right corner) then paste in the image location URL and they'll show up in your post without copying or saving anything. Ok, auction ends Sunday as it seems so pretty sure it will end at 56 (or that you can judge the metal conteny from the current bid). Following the auction because of some childhood memories connected to a similar watch. Hence, my questions about it..
That is for the "watch parts". The coin is in platinum. See the separate coin info on the sheet.. Plus, the engraving on the coin is pt 995.
What do you mean by that? Not with as far as legal tender goes but as a bullion coin/round. Found several Somalian coins with $ face value.
That stands for Platinum .995 fine Highly doubt it ends at $56 or even close to it, most bidding is done within the final two minutes of an auction. You could always ask the mint that mints coins from Somalia and made the coin in the watch about it. I'm sure someone there can read/write English as it's pretty common in Germany to be able to do so http://www.mayermint.com/contactUs.htm
