BEAUTIFUL! So I thought the other augustuswas Valentinian II, but I guess at this date it is Valentinian I.

I had the "broken legend" thing backwards I guess, so the broken legend went to the senior augustus not the junior....correct? I assume that works for gold at the time as well?

Not my coin....obviously. Valentinian I about the same time.

I wish! Thanks everyone for making this forum so much fun:)
Back to business, this new auction house/Leu is a nice addition to the sixbid site. I wonder if they had anything in common with the older (Bank Leu) auction house.
I am glad that I took on a extra 20 clients for my lawncare business, but having to maintain lawns/gardens for a 140 clients @ week is taking it to the max for sure. In six weeks....I will be unemployed and free to have more time for hobbies/ snowmobiling/ walking my Rottweiler named "Thor"/ working out with weights/ this is not my favorite....doing housework (my wife's a slavedriver):(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Very nice coin. I have almost had a solidus of Gratian a few times. None of them were in pristine condition however.

Here is a coin from around the same period of time. No, it is not pristine but I love it. There is graffiti on the obverse and I really like thinking bout who might have made those scratches on this gold coin. It also has wear, and I like thinking about all those who might have touched it as it passed through many hands.

Beautiful coin. I've never even seen a solidus (a non-virtual one that is).
