    No. Not a Doubled Die. Plating issue formed by Die Deterioration or Machine Doubling.

    Don't give up Justin. Right about the time you get so frustrated in trying to determine which coin comes from a true doubled die that you're ready to throw in the towel . . . you'll find, one and the difference will be so clear that it's like a light just went on . . . Lord how long it took me to "see the light".

    First clue: If the demarcation(s) are sharp, like yours is, then most likely it's MD. If its nice and rounded and "adds" to the size of the character in question, then it's a good chance you have real doubling (unless it's a form of die deterioration). Keep looking and sooner or later you'll find them.
