Ancient Coin Tackle Box

When I was a kid I used to keep my cool stuff in a fishing tackle box. The box contained an assortment of small treasures such as Matchbox cars, military medals and patches, bullet shells, musket balls, coins, fossils, seashells, iron pyrite crystals and so on. It occurred to me that I haven't changed much. I still walk around with a tackle box full of cool stuff.

I have a similar box where I keep all my beach and park treasures that I have found metal detecting. I will take a picture and show you when I go to where it's kept this weekend. (at my mom's apartment )

I was just looking at the biblical coins they had for sale. The widows mites. One mite had 2 obverse sides... an ancient error coin! Fascinating.

 

So that is what that Persian king on the Obv of the siglos is really doing. He was on his way to go fishing(maybe spear fishing?)!

 

What a fun tackle box! All kinds of cool stuff in there. I really love photos like these.
