Hairlines, yes, but not terrible. I like it OK. Has that nice contrasting grey look I like on a circ Walker.
I felt that it was cleaned also...this (IMO) is an example of subjective grading...and maybe a goof on PCGS's part. Sold for 242.50 this am.
Album slide marks, this shouldn’t have been straight graded. That said, the 21-D is a pretty tough coin, so I don’t completely disagree with the price realized.
Mike, the light hairlines (IMO) are cleaning marks...either way, I would not buy the coin and I think PCGS goofed on this one.
Hairlines aside, I was between G-4 and VG so 06 seems correct. 5th in my class at the Ed Wood School of Grading. Fantastic key date. The squeaky key dates get the grading grease.
I've looked it over, as well as possible. I say VG 10. IMO PCGS grades key dates quite harshly. I've seen plenty, undergraded a grade or so. I've always kinda stayed away from the walkers because of the 1921 dates and other keys.
