I just got a coin today in the mail its slabbed by ANACS but the slab is new and improved! When did they tweek there new slab? They seemed to make a big deal out of it the last time they changed there slab a year or so ago!
Have to admit feels a lot more solid then the Old New slab.

Hopefully they tweaked the design because a small knife is all you need to open the old one and a dab of glue to reseal it.

Nice coin! Did you get that off Teletrade?
Lastnight I was high bidder on a really nice raw RPM nickel but was out-bid at 1sec :(

The New New slab was introduced during the first week of Sept 2007. I expect a new variety of the New New slab before much longer to increase the size of the grade in the oval.

You guess it again! It's a RPM #6 I believe.

I guess ANACS couldn't make a big deal out of the fact their trying to inprove and correct a blunder with the other holder. I think this is an improvement but didn't see why they needed to change the holder in the first place!.

I'd be surprised if they changed the font since the bigger news with this slab change is...

The total elimination of the old style (small) ANACS holders!!

The new style holder will be used for all coins, both problem coins and problem-free coins.

I know this to be true as we have seen some of the new problem coins in the new larger holder. Since the problem designation needs to fit into that oval too then they will not likely change the font size (though I suppose they could change it on the problem free slabs only).

So how does everyone feel about that?

They just keep going down hill......
I wish they could un-do what Taylor changed and get back to the good grading, old look, and friendly service that they use to have.

Hmmmm. Probably not a good idea. Not a huge issue, but a negative move IMO.

The "two different holder" policy visually distinguishes problem-free coins from a mile away. I think that's a positive; it's important to get some psychological separation between problem coins and problem-free coins .

Heck, NGC will slab problem coins, but they get so much separation it's an entire different division, and psychologically looks like a different company (NCS).

I prefer the old small holders. I haven't purchased an ANACS slab since they changed it.
