I have this 1999p cent with a nice die crack and (I think) both obverse and reverse have misaligned dies. 1999pdiecrkfullobv.jpg 1999pdiecrkcrop.jpg 1999pdiecrkfullrev.jpg

Thank you Fred. Why is there such a gap between the E in America and the E in cent to the rim?

Thank you cpm9ball for your response. I will post another image to show what I was trying to say about the gap. In this image the arrows point to a large gap between the rim and the elevated area of the coin. My question is what caused this gap to occur? 1999prevcloseup.jpg

Thank you again for your response. I guess this was a dumb question for me to ask anyway. But, when you say you don't have the slightest idea, do you mean that?

Yes! I don't collect Lincoln cents, and I really don't care much for the Zincolns. Though, there are some people, here, who are very familiar with them. Perhaps someone else will chime in.

It wasn't a stupid question. I just gave you a stupid answer (intentionally).

I loved the answer you gave and thought it was funny. I am still hoping someone here will tell me what caused the big gap between the high point (where the arrows point) and the rim.
    Thanks again cpm9ball
