What's the mark on this $1 silver cert?

    Thought it was probably an alignment mark but wasn't sure. Is it a minus as far as grading concerned? It at top border, just right of center. Thanks.

    I believe it’s an alignment mark that you see every so often.

    It's used to line up for the cutting machine. It's a score mark for vertical alignment.
