You would be a whole lot better off simply starting a new thread with a well formulated question about the coin instead of placing these images at the end of a long, old thread that folks might no longer read.
Good luck with the question. There are several folks here quite active in Lincoln cents and they would be happy to help as long as they see the thread.
An old thread that I'm glad you guys bumped. It's been an excellent 'read' and I thank you guys for all of the information and education. I learned something today......
So what happened to Mike Carr's 1917? This was an interesting read and informative for someone who does not collect this type. Anyway, I'm guessing the TPG's at the Baltimore Show told him it was not a MPL, but he should have come back here and post the findings. He was so adamant he had the goods, so let's see what happened! Come on Man!
Robec, I know this is an old thread (stumbled upon it), but just wanted to say WOW on the power of the TrueView Photo! I recently researched the PCGS TrueView information since I'm still very new here, but didn't quite realize the power of it and I've seen a handful of your own photos and some you've done for others while cruising through some collections, and thought they were amazing already! The difference in detail on the rims here is wild? However, I prefer the colors that come through in your photos though
You know it's funny you mention TrueView because I was just looking over the same thing and while looking at the official website, I have some questions. http://images.pcgs.com/trueview/24200064 It appears as though you can download their.... "software?" and get these images your own.... am I right?
At first glance (I could be wrong here), it looks like there is a download function, but primarily to download any existing TrueView digital File with PCGS. Basically a mechanism to download a TrueView file if you needed documentation on your own coin, or just wanted to make a poster or card, etc. out of another's coin?
So I messaged this seller and the response was insane. something about their family is freemasons and they have unknown knowledge about 1917 proofs. lol wacky eBay sellers
I tried reasonably explaining that to the person ,but they weren't having any of it. They somehow think this is still a proof
