Was checking out this site, www.goldeneaglecoin.com, and was wondering if anyone here has bought from them, and if so, how were they? Were there products like described, honest, etc. Saw a few things there. Thanks! All info will help!

I used to shop there, in person. I had great experiences, good experiences, and one bad experience that kept me very wary. They are a consortium more than a single business, but they do have good stuff most of the time. But like with most places, you need to look out for yourself.

I was looking, and in bulk they had "cull indian" cents. Are these indian head cents?

It looks like a nice selection, and moderate pricing.

I have already posted twice today and I'm addicted to it lol! I have not purchased from goldeneagle but I have i've mentioned www.coinland.com twice already today :) ....It seems that one of the MAIN focuses of dicussion on this forum and the other coin forums I have seen is the integrity of the traders that supply rare coins and coin sets. I have never been robbed over the internet from buying from a shadey coin dealer, but then again I have only ever bought from www.coinland.com. So my addition to this forum will hopefully give you all another venue to purchase awesome rare coins and coin sets from honest, genuine dealers that care as much about coin collecting as you do! If you go to this site check out what they have down the left hand side on the main home page. I've read a lot of posts about Indian Coins and coin sets, here is the link to two parts of the site with them! :)

here is the one for Indian cents:

I'm going to find those other posts and direct them to the portion of the site that helps them the most!

Do you work for them :D;)

The only good way to buy a coin is in person. People are fool all the time by pictures. So many dealers and shows in this country why would anyone buy on line

I've bought some nice coins from vette1986 on ebay. My only problem is that his photos are almost always fuzzy on important areas of the coins. Most noticibly are the blurry dates, and the blurry inscriptions. I don't know why or how this occurs so often but it's something he should rectify. There were many times I didn't bid for just this reason.
Like anywhere else, judge for yourself and only bid what you think it;s worth.

I agree that the best way to buy is in person. However, I have had good experiences with Golden Eagle, as well as Coast to Coast.

Also, if you are ever in Massachusetts, stop by Coins N' Things. I started out buying coins there and have never been dissatisfied. Fair grading and fair prices.

I've heard a lot of good things about Coast to Coast.

I get most of mine from auctions, as is evident in one of my current threads.

I suppose it depends on what you're looking for.
I've bought from JJ Teaparty in the past at:
    http://www.jjteaparty.com/

They seem to be getting pricey these days but the stuff I bought was ACCURATELY graded, no problem raw material.

Theyput up very good pics too.

I have requested some information from them in the past with no reply so I didn't follow up. I figured they're too busy to waste their time with a little guy like me. Their shop is only fifteen miles away but being in the middle of the city makes it a major hassle to get to. Traffic, parking etc.

I'm surpised at the Car10 but it's been a while for me.
I always got quick responses and bought a few beautiful 2 Cent Pieces from them.

Have you tried their 800 number?

I check their site often just because of the good pictures. I use it for comparison shopping - and several online dealers seem to be getting pricey. I figured it was the market. I have used both Harlan J Berk and VTcoins. Harlan puts up good pictures also and VTcoins will put up pictures upon request. I have good luck with both. As for prices - well all sellers have good deals and bad deals. So check around and use various sources. I know I have missed some deals while shopping too much. :) I would like to know who got the 1805 vg-8 large cent from Harlan J Berk. It was a perfect problem free coin priced reasonably.

I get very suspecious of individuals that are basically new to this or any coin forum and spend thier first posts advertising some organization. Probably does work for them.
My opinion of almost any on line coin dealer is the same as a used car salesman. They are not there to make your day. They are in buisness to make money and as much as possible as fast as possible. I only buy coins from coin shows or flea markets. I want to see what I am buying and not sit and wait and hope what I bought is what I'll get in the mail. However, they do serve a purpose for me. I look up many coins I want on thier web sites prior to a coin show as a up to date guide of what may well be overpriced.

I don't work for Coinland I was just going nutz on my first day of posting figuring out how to add links and such. Coinland has been the only vender that I have used so I suppose it looked like I was promoting them a little much. I will be sure to look around and I've already found some awesome links from these forums, isn't that what they are for? Sorry about the confusion guys, I will be sure to leave that stuff out from now on.

    Andrew,
It is nice to post links to dealers that you know of---and as far as I know there are no rules against that. What some people were wondering is if you worked for them. You see we do have a rule against self promotion. Also I've found that Coinland doesn't seem to be my kind of dealer. Their prices are high in some cases, and from what I remember they don't have the best photos and such.

Take a look around and check out some of the dealers that are here on CT:
    www.vtcoins.com
    and Tradernick on Ebay!
