I've been looking for a toned 1927 $2 1/2 for a long time, as it is one of the few dates in my set I didn't have a toned example yet. I finally found one!! I plan to send it to PCGS soon for grading and TrueViews. Do you think it will straight grade? If so, what grade? Watch the video too to see in hand appearance. https://www.instagram.com/p/BaFA6CdhCHE/?hl=en&taken-by=elizabethtown_coins
I'm thinking high AU, and should grade. I am terrible at grading these though, so can only give my very amateur opinion. Nice coin btw.
Beautiful coin. Favorite series, just out of my collecting budget unfortunately. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
If it's the copper that tones on these and they're only 10% copper wouldn't that seem to be a large percentage of the coin that's toned? Just thinking out loud I really have limited experience with any toning on gold.
