    I am gonna guess from India. wait for more experienced India coin collectors opinions. off to work now. I will try and look at my catalogs when I get home from work. guessing a rupee or a fraction of a rupee ??? good luck. cool looking. :cat:

    Here is one of two nearly identical half rupees I have, minted 1459-1500 for or by Ghiyath Shah in India. It is silver and looks kind of similar to yours. I can not read any of the words. 1469-1500 Ghiyath Shah 1-2 r obv (2).JPG 1469-1500 Ghiyath Shah 1-2 r rev (2).JPG

    well I looked at my 17th,18th, and 19th century catalogs and did not see your coin. That does not mean it was not in there... just no picture. what is the size of your coin in millimeters ? I'll try to look at coins on Ebay tomorrow from India. where did you get this coin and what did you pay for it ?
