Hi all, Here is another ridiculous ebay listing I ran across today... For only $149.95 you can own your very own BIE, that's a Die Break between the B and the E. The seller calls it a CUD, which it's not and has no idea what this type of issue is worth... I wouldn't spend more than $3.00 on a BIE example! And it comes in a display box with free S/H
Probably worth much more than the coin... Many people think that even small errors are worth a ton, even though with the billions of coins being produced each year, there are bound to be many errors escaping the mint.
It's called marketing, and at least this guy went above and beyond in doing so. Sad, yes, but is still infinitely better than Redwin and his "11 million dollar" penny on dime idiocy. Top that.
And that would be it! Too bad you didn't find greater mention of the die crack that foretold the future....
Did you ever read his little story supposedly behind it? If not, and if you can find it, please do... it may be in there somewhere with the mysterious man and saving a child's life. Oh, and even the line taken from Indiana Jones... "you've chosen wisely". Good stuff!
When I first joined Cointalk in early 2013 I remember reading his posts, and finding his eBay listing for the magical coin. I actually had it bookmarked on my computer because of how outrageous it was. Redwin was always good for a good laugh. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-P-Penn...hash=item1c2291c3a1&rmvSB=true#ht_3984wt_1174
Wow... he lowered his price to a much more palatable level (barf). This makes one wonder why he didn't accept that surely serious "seven million dollar offer" that spoke of what a "great value" the coin would be at that price... You just can't make this stuff up.
