Hello everyone, I stumbled across your forums last night while looking for a credible place to get some price checks and unique information about my collection. I live in British Columbia, Canada and consider myself a novice coin collector. I've recently pulled out my entire collection and attempted to update their value. Problem is I'm not confident in my grading, maybe you guys can help me out. I'd like to get an opinion on the grade and value of the One Cent, 25c, 10c, and the 6 pence. Any aditional information on the older/ancient tokens is a bonus. Thanks a ton, Karl
Welcome to the forum Karl!!! Although I know absolutely nothing about grading those coins someone else here will surely be able to help you. You certainly came to the right place!
I've never really tried grading foreign coins. And you might needcloser pics of the individual coins for someone to grade them. Welcome to the forum.
Thanks for the warm welcome! Here are more detailed scans of the 6 pence, One Cent, 25c, and 10c. Hope you guys can help, thanks! Karl
welcome Karl the 2008 Charlton lists prices as follows..IMO all are EF...well maybe VF for edward VII 1858 - F/100 VF/150 EF/250 1903 - F/35 VF/135 EF/275 1915 - VG/30 F/75 VF/225 EF/750
Howdy Karl - my estimates of grade - 1858 cent - VF details, damaged by corrosion and harshly cleaned - net F 1604 6 pence - Poor 1903 10 cents - Poor 1915 25 cents - F Sorry, but can't help much with the tokens.
6d legends F, Shield GF, potrait poor+. $35-50, but could go either way, I've seen these priced very differently. 1858 Good Very Fine (probably american XF), nicked cleaned. Net GF. Newfoundland dime : Fair?/F 1915 25 cents...F Copper coin in middle is a AE4 of Julian II ceaser Know nothing of indian/mexican. GDJMSP, you need to learn a bit about grading hammered coins....
I rather thought I had learned a bit about grading them Jerome. Of course I am always ready, willing and able to learn more Apparently we disagree about the condition of that coin being due to a weak strike instead of wear. Had it been due entirely to a weak strike, the legends of both sides and portions of the reverse would not be so bold as they are.
