I have a coin that I can't seem to find on google, it looks as though below the liberty whatever was there is rubbed off, it does have a date under the eagle of 1873 but I can not locate a $$ value anywhere on the coin. It's appox. 15mm in size. Any help so I can research further would be pretty awesome. Thanks

I suspected that and wondered if it was a token or anything. I just wasnt sure at all what it was but thanks for the info.

I suspect it is a spiel marke token made to resemble a US half-eagle, but those pictures are way too small to tell. And I'm on my bigger monitor! On my phone, that would be a dot!

Sorry about the pictures it's the best I can do at the moment. I am able to zoom and do not see any other markings but I think I've decided it's not real and will prob toss it so know one else waists time on it. I thought it was fishy when the date was under the eagle.

After opening the pix in new tabs, I was able to zoom in ... a bit.

Sorry, I have no definitive answer for you.

Token/jeton/spiel marke/gaming counter, is all I can suggest.

It might be contemporary to the 19th century, but you knew it wasn't a real $5 gold piece, I'm sure.

Kinda neat, though likely not worth a whole lot monetarily.

I do thank you agian, and nope I didn't have any grand illusions of paying of the house or anything. Someone tossed it in the collection plate and it got me curious to what exactlly it was. ( I may never know)
