Nice find. I'm in the philly area so my chances are low, but I'm still waiting to find one of these or an indian head.
Thanks, it was shock to see in the pile, I guess someone broke open a mint set and put it in circulation. Research showed these were put in the set when there was no dollar for that year. Don't know the year it came from. I live one state south of Colorado, so that is probably why it showed up.
Thanks for the info, I saw one similar on eBay for a couple bucks and it was an '89, so it falls within your time frame.
Its interesting that the ebay seller would bother to ascribe a date to it. The only way one would practically know the date would be if it were still attached to the mint set that it came from as the tokens didn't include the date and I don't recall there being any distinguishable differences in the design through the 16 years. Since they were produced from actual cent planchets, I guess it would be possible to look for certain die markers but I'm not sure if it would be worth the hassle.
True, maybe they took it from the set? Or guessed. Value appears to be the same, with the exception of the Centennial.

Yo también estoy sorprendido. Ayer abri varios rollos de penny y me encontre la misma moneda token. Alguien podria decirme su valor. Gracias Luis desde Allentown. Pennsylvania
