1944 penny 3.3 g ?

    I think that might be slightly outside of the tolerance. Not sure if it's enough to command a premium though. I'm sure the more experienced members will chime in when they wake up.

    You are not giving enough information. How about a picture of the Reverse side? And the Edge? 3.3 might be struck on a slightly rolled thin Planchet, but nothing major that would give it any premium.

    He meant thick, I assume. 3.3 grams is just outside the normal tolerance of 3.11 +/- .12 grams, and if your scale isn't calibrated to give you 0.01 gram accuracy, that could account for the other 0.07 grams. If your coin is truly "heavy," it's probably not heavy enough to trigger an "I must buy this" response from most collectors. There is a possibility that it could be a planchet for a foreign coin, although I don't know off the top of my head which foreign coin it could be.
