Hello, I found this penny that is a 1984-D that has edges that are a metallic color? Is it from acid?? The front of the coin edge is perfectly metallic so how did the acid eat at it so perfectly? On the back you can see some of it on the memorial building. Also, the edges are so defined. When I run my hand through the coin you can feel the edges prominently.

Looks like the thin copper plating got worn off rubbing on something abrasive, showing the zinc insides. Not an error. You can make more if you have some sand paper or emery cloth.
