In our excitement to get photogs uploaded to this site, we sometimes rush the process and wind up posting pictures that seemed acceptable at the time, but in retrospect, not as admirable as they could have been. In short, (me/you) we jumped the gun. Here's your chance to rectify/improve your petulant, impulsive nature........ to admit, "I could have gotten that shot a little better if I just took some care in in either preparation, lighting, or focus". Maybe so but I haven't seen the actual coin, so all I could comment on is what the pictures looked like, and the coin looks better in the first picture. If the coin actually looked more like the first picture then the new picture would be the bad one. That is the problem with trying to make image comparisons. If you haven't seen the actual coin, you can't say which image is better.
Of course, we're not all seeing the same images. That is, we're not seeing the same images in the same way. These are both HP monitors connected through HDMI to the same HP desktop with default settings. The 25" LCD on top is over 6 years old. The bottom is a 22" LCD with "back light technology" purchased this year. Every phone, laptop, tablet, IPad, etc... will display the image with some variance.
