I'm sorry, but four pages of mostly nonsense is just too much. The coin in the OP is simply damage; no ifs, ands, or buts about it. The one 43 (post 36g) was reprocessed, period.

My apologies for the coins not being as hoped, but is part of the game. Take from it, learn from it, and be the better for it.

It's cool... the greater point was, if you like and/or are in any way interested in this as a hobby, it's wise to turn early negatives into a positive.

Either way, welcome to the forum. :)

OP's coin is a normal cent that has been damaged outside of the mint.

It's not a partial collar, notice the edge extends out wider on both top and bottom. You can't have a railroad rim (partial collar) on both obverse and reverse.

It wasn't originally made that way. Both the OP coin and yours have been "Texas Sized". Placed between two pieces of hard leather and then beaten. The leather conforms to the surface of the coin and transmits the force of the blow evenly over the entire surface. This keeps it from flattening the details and causes the entire coin to expand evenly. For some reason, zinc cents lose their plating when it is done to them. Not sure why. I don't know if it caused the plating to flake off, or if it causes it to combine with the zinc surface. The zinc being soft though does tend to create that double railroad rim (similar to what is sometime seen of cent removed from encasements) becuase the rims flatten and spread more than the center of the edge.
