It's bad luck to have one of those in the house. If you want to mail it to me, I have been trained to properly dispose of such coins.
didn't realize this was a usa thread when i posted, my bad... but since you asked... 1st coin: minted 101-102 a.d. 2nd coin: minted 195-196 a.d. 3rd coin: minted january - march 240 a.d. 4th coin: minted 991-997 a.d.
No, I am not, at all, confident in the attribution. That's what the coin was labeled, and it was given to me as a gift.
My oldest US silver coin was an 1800 Bust dollar, ANACS VG8, for which I have no pictures. The oldest US silver coin I presently own is, I believe, this 1829 Bust half dime I found while metal detecting in North Carolina. My oldest presently-owned silver coin overall (but not the oldest I've ever owned) is this Corinthian stater, circa 345-307 BC. My oldest dated silver coin was probably this 1505-KH Hungarian denar.
That one has the perfect CircCam look, and for some reason, I've always had a thing for 1812 halves. As to 1794 half dimes, well... that's not a league I get to play in. Wow. @orifdoc - your avatar is familiar from Collectors Universe. ("BryceM", if I remember correctly.)
