Hey. Under Variety Vista, CONECA says only one mintmark stle was used on 1964-D pennies, however I have found two variations. Anybody have an explanation? What am I missing? http://www.varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/Denver Mintmark Styles.htm Thanks. -SC
They were hand punched into the dies, so that makes them look different due to the fact that everyones strengths are different/ varies .. But they are the same style
Im going to be starting some more quick question and answer threads like this one tomorrow but Ill give you a head stary. I have 3 Presidential dollars that have perfect circled indents between different letterings on the rim. 2 have 1 indent, and 1 has 3, and I know they must have to come from the mint. No one could make them at home. I will have to get back to you with pics tomorrow but theres a heads up Its 1:43 in the morning here...
Hmm. Interesting. Hey ill check it out if I can get to it. Only think I could think of is a Coin holder did that if they are indent. Or a coin wrapping machine
