1969 s penny double die?

    You mean Doubled Die... No I don't think yours is a Doubled Die

    No, it is machine doubling damage caused by a movement of the die as striking, sometimes called strike doubling. True DD is caused in manufacture of the die itself. Since the "S" mint mark is punched in separately after the die was made in 1969, but before striking coins, a doubling effect of it ( as seen in photo in post #1) usually indicates MDD.
