Interesting Lincolns for sale...all by the same seller...all in the same exact high end BU+ RED condition! I contacted the seller and asked if any of the coins were cleaned, plated and or dipped and all I got was an email-form-response that basically said, "No". What do you think? Don't you think it is odd they appear to have the SAME exact RED condition? When you see the pics, you will see what I mean. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3948603676&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3948606743&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3948692136&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39456&item=3948684473&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39456&item=3948693690&rd=1 He has many more that all exactly the same...would you bid if you wanted/needed any of these coins? Thanks...before I pull any trigger, I appreciate the forum's opinions because you tell it like it is.
Don't like the look -- looks messed with. Besides that, they have private feedback, which translates to "no bid" to me.
I absolutely agree with Ziggy. All of those cents seem to have different stages of wear (on the one the cheekbone is gone) yet they are all red? And I NEVER buy from a seller with private feedback. They obviously have something to hide. Personally, I don't think private feedback should even be an option offered by eBay. What good is the feedback system if you can't read the feedback?
Many red flags here: 1. As Ziggy said, the color of the Lincolns do not look right. Probably dipped, possibly re-colored -- they have that unnatural "washed out" look. 2. Private feedback -- what is he hiding? 3. He cuts and pastes recent positive feedback in his listing -- but fails to include the one negative he received last month. 4. He cannot spell the word "Gem"!! (Jem??????) I would stay away.
You shouldn't even need spellcheck for "Gem". That guy probably can't even spell "cat" if you spotted him the "c" and the "a".
IMO, private feedback = no bid. I also don't like the packaging. Usually when you see "sets" put together in informative holders like that they are done by less than accepted standards.
If you take a close look at the wheat heads the definitive lines all appear to be filled and uneven, I also noticed the wear on the cheeks of some of the coins, This is definitely a NO BIDDER Imho He is certainly getting the prices out of them though.
