And GOT watchers think the Lannisters are impressively sick & twisted. The Lannisters can only dream!

I am very weak on later Ptolemies, but since you mentioned the monsters of Ptolemy III, here is a 93.3 g 46mm octobol (ex Dattari):

I also have this (by comparison) diminutive dichalkon of the same ruler, just 3.2g and 15.5 mm (Salamis mint):

Lol one can put "incest" and "steamy incest" in a thread title but moderation eats me alive when I say "turd" in a title (on a thread about the incompetent Valentinian the Turd Third). Anyways here's my Ptolemaic tetradrachm (Ptolemy II).

I am a fan of Ptolemy I and II. Not big on his descendants, and they devolved into Sub-Humans by the Egyptian millennia-age-old custom of interbreeding among leadership...

Are these ancestors for the scientist, who flourished in Alexandria during the 2nd century AD. the guy who proposed the geocentric (Earth-centred) model of the universe now known as the Ptolemaic system?

No, that was Claudius Ptolemaeus; c. AD 100 – c. 170. Ptolemy was a very popular name among the Macedonian upper-crust going back to Alexander the Great's time, and was widely used by Greeks in Egypt as well. It was the Smith or Jones of its day.

Claudius Ptolemy wrote the astronomical treatise The Almagest, which was translated into Arabic and used by Arab astronomers during the middle ages. It was the leading resource up to the time of Copernicus.
